Small Business Tip: Turning Warm Leads Into Hot Prospects

One of the most important things in business is a steady flow of new business. Without it, you just can't grow very well. All salespeople have a list of possible prospects: names and contact information that they've picked up from other clients, friends, conferences, etc. It can be a challenge to turn those leads into a good prospect on the cusp of buying your product. Often, sales "experts" tell you that the best way to turn them into clients is to email them a dozen times, call them every two weeks, send them hand-written postcards, and all kinds of other techniques. The problem is that none of these give the prospect any value. They're just bombarded with voicemails, emails, and somewhat creepy handwritten letters. At times it can feel a little like being stalked.
