 As a leader it is important to use mindful leadership techniques. In your business there will be times when you have to deal with resentful employees. As a leader it is important that you are always professional. Here are some tips for developing mindful responses to resentful employees.

 Utilizing Active Listening Skills: When an employee is talking to you make sure you are giving them your full attention.

 Behind Every Complaint Lies a Request: Employees like to complain. When an employee is complaining it is better to respond to them is positive reinforcements.

 Diffusing Anger: If an employee becomes angry at you, calmly talk to them. Tell the employee that you want to discuss the problem and come to a solution to solve it. This way you are diffusing the anger and showing the employee you care.

 Here are some questions to ask yourself to help you and your employees

  • What opportunities do you have to improve your active listening when communicating with difficult employees?
  • How can you start to change your organization’s culture by making sure that complaints are converted into requests?
  •  
  • As a leader in your organization, do you have permission to fail and utilize the teachable moments from those failures?

As a leader it is important that you take time and communicate with your employees. Using mindful leadership techniques will help you as a leader and your workplace.
